TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please read the following Booking Terms and Conditions carefully before booking a trip with us, as they set forth your legal rights and obligations regarding your travel arrangements. By making a reservation with EXPEDITION TRAVEL PERÚ, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these terms.
  1. Payments and Booking Confirmation
    • Initial Deposit: To confirm your reservation, a deposit equal to 50% of the total package price is required. Upon receipt of this payment, our agency will immediately proceed with the issuance of personalized, non-transferable tickets, including admission to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, the Inca Trail (when applicable), train tickets, and/or domestic flights.
    • Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid at least 30 days prior to the service start date. Reservations made less than 30 days before departure require full payment (100%) at the time of booking.
    • Prices and Surcharges: Quoted prices include only the services expressly detailed in the confirmed travel vouchers. Government taxes, entrance fees, or unforeseen increases in third-party operating costs may be subject to change without prior notice.
  2. Customer Cancellation PolicyIf the customer decides to cancel part or all of the booked services, the cancellation will only become effective once written notice has been received through the agency’s official email address. Refunds are subject to the following cancellation policy:
    • Cancellation 90 days or more before departure: A refund of 50% of the amount paid will be issued.
    • Cancellation 60 days (2 months) before departure: A refund of 30% of the amount paid will be issued.
    • Cancellation 30 days (1 month) before departure: A refund of 10% of the amount paid will be issued.
    • Cancellation 20 days or less before departure: No refund will be issued (100% cancellation fee). At this stage, transportation, accommodation, guiding services, and other travel arrangements have already been paid to our suppliers to secure the logistics of the trip.
Special Condition Regarding Entrance Tickets: Admission tickets to Machu Picchu, the Inca Trail, train services, and similar government-issued permits are completely non-refundable, regardless of the cancellation period indicated above. This is because the Peruvian government operates a strictly limited daily visitor quota, and all tickets are issued on a personalized, non-transferable, and 100% non-refundable basis under Peruvian regulations. Consequently, the portion of your payment allocated to these tickets cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
  3. Modifications, Postponements, and Date ChangesAlthough cancellations are subject to the penalties described above, travel dates may be postponed upon prior coordination with the agency, subject to availability and the following conditions:
    • If the customer requests a change or postponement after entrance tickets, train tickets, or flights have already been issued, the customer must pay 100% of the cost of the new tickets, in addition to an administrative processing fee of USD $50.00 per person.
    • Date changes or itinerary modifications will not be accepted within 14 days or less before the original departure date.
  4. Force Majeure and Agency CancellationsEXPEDITION TRAVEL PERÚ shall not be held liable for the cancellation, suspension, delay, or modification of services resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control (“Force Majeure”), including but not limited to adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, road closures, civil unrest, strikes, pandemics, government restrictions, or actions by third parties.
    • If we are required to cancel a trip before its commencement due to a Force Majeure event, we will offer you the option to reschedule your trip or receive a travel credit, after deducting any non-recoverable costs already incurred, such as train tickets, flights, or entrance permits that cannot be refunded by government authorities or service providers.
    • In such cases, EXPEDITION TRAVEL PERÚ shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, nor for additional expenses incurred by the customer, including but not limited to visas, vaccinations, travel insurance, or non-refundable international airfare.
  5. Inclusions and ExclusionsEXPEDITION TRAVEL PERÚ is responsible only for the services expressly listed in the confirmed travel vouchers.
    • The package price does not include: International airfare (unless specifically stated otherwise), travel insurance, meals not expressly indicated in the itinerary, excess baggage charges, personal expenses, or any other services not specifically included. Any additional expenses shall be the sole responsibility of the traveler.
  6. Travel Requirements: Documentation and Health
    • Travel Documentation: It is the sole responsibility of the customer to possess a valid passport (with a minimum validity of six months), the required visas, the Andean Migration Card (TAM), where applicable, and any other documents required by immigration authorities. EXPEDITION TRAVEL PERÚ shall not be responsible if the traveler is unable to participate in the trip due to incomplete or invalid documentation.
    • Health and Physical Condition: Many of our tours involve physical activity and travel at high altitudes within the Peruvian Andes. Customers are responsible for ensuring that they are physically fit to participate and must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions at the time of booking.
  7. Responsibilities and Limitations of Liability EXPEDITION TRAVEL PERÚ acts solely as an intermediary in arranging and coordinating the tourism services included in your itinerary.
    • Our liability is strictly limited to our role as a travel organizer and intermediary. We shall not be responsible for deficiencies, delays, negligence, or failures in services provided directly by independent suppliers, nor for loss, theft, or damage to baggage or personal belongings while using such services.
    • Customers are solely responsible for carrying and presenting their original identification documents to service providers whenever required. If a supplier denies access due to the customer’s failure to present the required documentation, EXPEDITION TRAVEL PERÚ shall not be held liable and no refund will be issued.
    • We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance in their country of residence before departure. Such insurance should include coverage for trip cancellation, medical expenses, emergency evacuation, personal accidents, and loss of baggage.
